Though she admits that it's less because she doesn't know how to make a strawberry shortcake, which she does know how to do, and more that she is afraid of trying and messing it all up, since she feels that the dish being her namesake means that she has to get it absolutely right and perfect or it won’t be good enough and, more importantly, SHE won't be good enough as a baker. That’s right, Strawberry Shortcake can’t make strawberry shortcake. Irony: In “Strawberry’s Shortcake”, she reveals that she can't bring herself to make a strawberry shortcake.Such as when Pieman manipulated Strawberry into signing away her food truck in “Peculiar Purple Partner”, or when Crabapple tricked her into giving up an opportunity to bake for Kiki KeyLime in “Kiki KeyLime’s Favorite Things”. With the Peculiar Purple Pieman and Crabapple Jam, she's less trusting of them due to their more blatant antagonism, but she would constantly give them the benefit of the doubt anyway, which tends to lead to trouble. When she had a rivalry with Raspberry Tart, she constantly believed whatever Raspberry told her, even when it was an obvious lie, and would immediately forgive her by the next episode no matter what Raspberry did to try and sabotage her.In Fruitleg Alley, she thinks that the titular underground market sounded "adorable", and only started to realize the shadiness of the location once she had already walked inside and encountered several deceitful sellers.Horrible Judge of Character: She always sees the best in everyberry, which tends to get her in trouble with people who exploit her overly trusting nature.Grandma's Recipe: Strawberry inherited several recipes from her late grandma, which she uses for her baking business.Country Mouse: Strawberry originally lived in the small town of Berryville, before moving to Big Apple City to pursue a baking career.Cheerful Child: She generally has an upbeat attitude and positive outlook on things.Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: She's the Redhead to Lemon Meringue's Blonde and Lime Chiffon's Brunette.Like prior series, she’s considered a superior baker to the Purple Pieman, both in baking talent, and for her kind nature compared to Pieman’s scheming ways.In “Bake-Off”, during their competition on “Bite of the City” to decide who is the superior baker, they end up tying and decide to drop their rivalry. She and Raspberry form a rivalry due to both being bakers at the Berryworks, and Strawberry would usually one-up Raspberry in episodes focusing on the two.Alliterative Name: Strawberry Shortcake.Adaptational Dye-Job: She has long pink hair in this series like her prior incarnation, though it’s completely straight.Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Strawberry carries much more doubt in her baking skills than previous incarnations, with several episodes centering around her worries that she isn’t as good a baker everyone says she is, and having to regain her confidence. She runs the Extraordinary Berry bakery truck at the Berryworks, while meeting a bunch of new friends. Hoping to become the next big name in baking, she moved from her small hometown of Berryville to live with her Aunt Praline in Big Apple City.
